Uniform Dress Code

Uniforms help students feel like they are part of a cohesive community. They foster school spirit and build unity. At Porter Christian Academy, we are aiming for students to appreciate one another as equals in the kingdom of God. We are instilling the value of being brothers and sisters in the family of God, rather than creating cliques and groups through "fashion statements."

Full uniform will be required each day unless otherwise announced by the Principal. Students are expected to arrive to school each morning in their entire uniform. Uniforms must be laundered on a regular basis and should appear neat and clean.

If a student starts school in the middle of the school year, parents will be allowed a two (2)-week grace period in which to purchase student uniforms. Otherwise, all students must be in uniform on the first day of school. Parents are required to purchase student uniforms from Parker Uniforms unless otherwise noted below.

Girls' Uniform

Polo Shirts - Must be purchased and monogrammed at Parker Uniforms. Shirts must have a relaxed fit and cannot be form-fitting. Shirts must be tucked in and buttoned up to, and including, the second button from the neck.

Skirts - Must be purchased at Parker Uniforms. Hemlines must be no shorter than the bottom of the knee at all times, including when the student is seated at her desk.

Footwear - solid black, brown or navy loafers, flats, lace-up shoes and low-heel pumps are acceptable. Girls must wear either navy, white or skin-colored stockings or socks that coordinate with the uniform. Stockings or socks must be solid in color with no designs.

Boys' Uniform

Polo Shirts - Must be purchased and monogrammed at Parker Uniforms. Shirts must have a relaxed fit and cannot be form-fitting. Shirts must be tucked in and buttoned up to, and including, the second button from the neck.

Pants - Must be purchased at Parker Uniforms or Academy. Please note that Parker Uniforms sells high-quality pants that are stain resistant, wrinkle free, have adjustable waist bands, reinforced knees and large hems. If the pants are purchased at Academy, they must be khaki-colored, matching the color and style sold at Parker Uniforms. Pants can be either flat front or pleated.

Belts - Must be solid black or brown.

Footwear - Solid black, navy or brown loafers or lace-up shoes are acceptable. Boys must wear solid-colored socks that coordinate with the uniform.
