Grooming & Personal Appearance

The student's appearance is a parental responsibility as well as a student’s responsibility. Personal appearance affords unmistakable evidence of the respect every person has for himself or herself. It is also an indication of the student's willingness to abide by the Student Handbook. Each student is responsible for adhering to these guidelines.

Girls' Appearance
  • Girls will not be allowed to wear make-up of any kind.
  • Fingernail polish, French manicures and pedicures as well as nail tips are not permitted.
  • Jewelry of any sort, including hair bows and hair ornaments, will not be allowed.
  • Barrettes and headbands of the same color of the student’s hair may be worn to help secure the student's hair.
  • Hair should be uncut, neat and combed out of the eyes and face.
  • Girls are not allowed to cut their hair during the school year or summer months. If the hair is cut, a three (3)-day suspension will result and the student will have to wear her hair up for one (1) quarter.
Boys' Appearance
  • Boys' hair must be cut above the ears, collar and eyebrows so that it complements rather than dominates the student's appearance.
  • Boys must be clean-shaven at all times. Beards and/or mustaches are not permitted.
  • Students who fail to arrive to school clean-shaven will be fined $5.00, receive 1 demerit, and sent to the boy’s restroom to shave.
  • Sideburns must not grow past the mid-ear.
  • Boys' hairstyles need to be godly and not extreme. Mohawks, shaved designs, etc. will not be permitted.
