Grooming & Personal Appearance

The student's appearance is a parental responsibility as well as a student’s responsibility. Personal appearance affords unmistakable evidence of the respect every person has for himself or herself. It is also an indication of the student's willingness to abide by the Student Handbook. Each student is responsible for adhering to these guidelines.

Girls' Appearance

  • Girls may not be wear make-up of any kind, including colored/tinted nail polish or synthetic nail tips. This includes French manicures and pedicures.
  • Jewelry of any sort will not be allowed.
  • Any accessories worn to hold the hair in place needs to be modest and match the colors of the school uniform (navy, red, or white).
  • Hair should be uncut, neat and combed out of the eyes and face.
  • Girls are not allowed to cut their hair during the school year or summer months. If the hair is cut, a three (3)-day suspension will result and the student will have to wear her hair up for one (1) quarter.

Boys' Appearance

  • Boys' hair must be cut above the ears, collar and eyebrows so that it complements rather than dominates the student's appearance.
  • Boys must be clean-shaven at all times. Beards and/or mustaches are not permitted.
  • Students who fail to arrive to school clean-shaven will be fined $5.00, receive 1 demerit, and sent to the boy’s restroom to shave.
  • Sideburns must not grow past the mid-ear.
  • Boys' hairstyles - mohawks, faux hawks, shaved designs, etc. will not be permitted.
  • Jewelry of any sort will not be allowed.
